Learning what to eat... - a photo on Flickriver

            This parent Sandhill Crane is giving food to a colt to both feed it as well as show it what is edible. I watched as each parent had a colt with it and each parent/colt pair went through the same routine of shared foraging.

This image is from our July trip to Homer where we found several families of Sandhill Crane's with their colts in and around the city.
