Speculum of blue - a photo on Flickriver

Speculum of blue

            Athough common, the colors on the Mallard are exquisite! Here a drake does the flap and I got a great speculum shot. Those blue colors are just gorgeous on this drake! 

And for those who aren't knowledgeable about the speculum, it is the patch of often iridescent color on the secondary feathers of most duck species.
