Dirty bird... - a photo on Flickriver

Dirty bird...

            This Black-billed Magpie was looking for food in the dirt, hence the dirt on the beak. Otherwise this bird, in the corvid family, is extremely smart for a bird and has some beautiful iridescent feathers not shown in this extreme closeup. I was looking for birds a bit further out but since this Magpie was close I aimed my gear at it and captured the wonderful details on this birds head and beak. I love the blue eye and the reflection in the eye as well.
