Wackelfahrt mit der "Farbeimerbahn" - a photo on Flickriver

Am Ostufer des Lago Maggiore in Norditalien führt in Laveno eine Seilbahn auf den Sasso del Ferro.

Die 1964 eröffnete Bahn führt zu einer Bergstation auf knapp 980 Meter Höhe. Von hier aus führte ursprünglich noch Skilift zum Gipfel des Sasso del Ferro auf 1.062 Meter Höhe. Das kleine Skigebiet konnte jedoch nur bis Anfang der 1980er Jahre genutzt werden, danach fehlte der Schnee dafür. Die Reste des Skilifts sind am Berg noch erkennbar.

Die Seilbahn selbst verfügte ursprünglich nur über offene Korbkabinen. 2006 wurde die Bahn komplett erneuert. Dabei wurden die offenen Korbkabinen gegen Metallgondeln ersetzt. Ein Teil der Gondeln wurde nun auch geschlossen gestaltet, auf eine überdachte Kabine folgen jeweils zwei offene Kabinen. Beide Arten können nur im Stehen von maximal 2 Personen benutzt werden.

DIe Einheimischen nennen die Bahn "Farbeimerbahn", da die offenen Gondeln an Farbeimer erinnern. Und: trotz Wackelei habe ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen sowohl bei der Berg- wie auch der Talfahrt eine offene Gondel zu nehmen...
