On the Trossachs Tour at Loch Achray.

            I found this old Valentines postcard at a postcard fair recently. Although described as Trossachs Hotel - nowadays the timeshare development Tigh Mor Trossachs - it was the coach and horses which attracted me. These pre-WW1 tourists are passing the shores of Loch Achray enjoying the Trossachs Tour. This was the well trodden tourist route which by means of coaches like this - and later the motor variety - and trains and steamers enabled visitors to do the circuit from Glasgow or Edinburgh via Stirling, Callander, Trossachs Pier, Stronachlachar, Inversnaid and Balloch. The Tour was first offered from 1858 by the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway and, in later years, could also be done via Aberfoyle rather than Callander. Is this coach perhaps on its way to Aberfoyle via the Duke's Pass rather than Trossachs Pier? Postally unused.
