’t Nestje, VBS Lapscheure, wordt leeg nest vanaf september 2026
Na jaren van inspanningen en veelvuldig overleg heeft het bestuur van de scholengroep Karel de Goede met pijn in het hart de ouders deze avond ingelicht dat Vrije Basisschool ’t Nestje in Lapscheure haar deuren zal sluiten op het einde van het schooljaar 2025-2026. De beslissing komt er na een lange periode van structurele moeilijkheden en een aanhoudend laag leerlingenaantal.

Niettegenstaande de vele inspanningen die de directie, leerkrachten, het oudercomité en de scholengroep hebben geleverd om het schooltje op de radar te zetten en van de nodige vernieuwingen te voorzien op didactisch en pedagogisch vlak is een sluiting onvermijdelijk.

Jaar na jaar daalde het leerlingenaantal of flirtte het met de rationaliseringsnorm.

De personeelskosten en de aankomende kosten aan het gebouw en installaties lopen voor de school en de scholengroep hoog op ten opzichte van het lage aantal leerlingen.
