The big reveal

            This is a real test of patience for every restless visitor of Petra. I only learned this when I arrived here :) Leading to the Treasury is a 2km long and 80m high Siq - a natural sandstone gorge that gently winds towards the ancient city until it opens on to the magnificent Treasury. After every bend you think "This will be it" so many times, you get tired of it to the point when you also think "Is this a hoax????" And then, at last.... 

In its day, Petra was a bustling city that witnessed a constant procession of travellers, visitors and pilgrims, who passed along the same path as us now.
