Millennium Décor Frozen Foods Sign, Oxford Edition

WEEK 32 – Oxford Millennium Kroger, Revisited (IV)

We begin this Thursday upload set with one of the best things to come out of millennium décor: the beloved frozen foods department sign! I shared very early on in my flickr career that I love this thing, and many of you chimed in in agreement. Millennium décor, sadly, is on its way to extinction these days… so any chance I have to showcase this sign, especially as time rolls onward, makes me happy :)

I’ll talk more about the sign in the next photo(s), but wanted to take a moment here to mention: millennium isn’t the only décor package on its way to extinction. Script is very quickly fading away as well, and even 2012 is rapidly being replaced, which is a bit ironic given how rapidly it infiltrated Kroger’s store fleet in the first place, not that long ago at all.

The newest example of the latter is the Southaven Goodman/Getwell Kroger, the store that gave me my first encounter with 2012 and which is also one of my favorite stores ever to see that package in. l_dawg2000 and kbable272 are going to keep tabs on the remodel as it occurs, so be sure to keep an eye on their albums here and here, respectively. (I won’t have any during-remodel pics myself, but I do have plenty of before pics that I’ll be adding to my existing album eventually, and I’ll be sure to document the finished product later on, too!)
