Sunset, Naxos, Cyclades, Greece. - a photo on Flickriver

            Naxos (en grec ancien et moderne Νάξος / Náxos) est une île grecque située au sud de la mer Égée. L'île mesure 428 km2 C'est la plus grande île des Cyclades.Du nord au sud, elle s'étend sur 28,3 km et, d'ouest en est, sur 21,2 km. On y trouve le mont Zas (Ζας, en grec local Zeus), plus haut sommet des Cyclades avec 1 004 mètres. Son paysage fertile couvre des villages de montagne, des ruines antiques et de longues plages.   La plus grande ville et port principal est Náxos, aussi appelée Chóra. L'île est riche : marbre et émeri sont exportés tandis que son agriculture produit la célèbre pomme de terre de Naxos, mais aussi des fromages, du miel et le Kitro, une liqueur de cédrat.
