Duke of Burgundy (Hamearis lucina). - a photo on Flickriver

            My only Duke of Burgundy for 2021, taken on a cool cloudy day. 

I had just given up on seeing any that day and was about to leave the site when I spotted this male that I assumed had just emerged and had climbed to the top of a small bush to dry out its wings.

Such a lucky sighting.
