Kittanning Sea Scouts 1955 along side the S.E.S. Flying Cloud with Roy Hoover as the Skipper

            This boat was orginally built by G. W. Niblette in 1942 in Ocean City, N.J. Length was 38.9', beam 12.6'. Chrysler twin engines, 112HP each. The boat was purchased by the bureau of ships and issued to the naval aircraft factory for handling seaplanes and their crew to and from moorings. In 1952 it was turned in at the Philadelphia naval shipyard. In 1954 it was transfered to the Pioneer Trails Council of the Sea Explorer Scouts.  The photo was taken around 1955 where Kings Bowling Lanes parking area is now at the lower end of Kittanning. Today the Armstrong Rails to Trails would be just to the left of the boat.
