Wittstock/Dosse, LAGA 2019: Frühlingsbeet entlang der Glinze im Friedrich-Ebert-Park - Spring flower bed along the Glinze in Friedrich-Ebert-Park

            2019 findet die Landesgartenschau (LAGA) Brandenburg in Wittstock/Dosse statt. Wittstock, entstanden aus einer slawischen Siedlung, wurde erstmals in einem Dokument von 946 erwähnt. Bis heute wird die 95 km nordöstlich von Berlin gelegene Stadt von einer vollständig erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer umschlossen. Entlang dieser Stadtmauer erstrecken sich die beiden Parkareale der LAGA, der von der Glinze durchflossene ursprünglich 1925 angelegte Friedrich-Ebert-Park und der für die LAGA neu geschaffene Park am Bleichwall am Ufer der Dosse.

In 2019, Wittstock/Dosse hosts the Brandenburg State Garden Show. Wittstock, which originated from a Slavic settlement, was first mentioned in a document from 946. To this day, the town, 95 km northeast of Berlin, is surrounded by a completely preserved medieval town wall. The two LAGA park areas streth along this town wall. One is the Friedrich Ebert Park, originally created in 1925 and now thoroughly renewed, The small river Glinze flows right through this area. And the other is the newly created Park am Bleichwall on the shore of the river Dosse.
