Wild Horse Monument, Vantage - a photo on Flickriver

            Horses came to the Pacific Northwest in the early 1700s. The Indians quickly learned their value and they transformed the culture of the Plateau Indians. This image is of a sculpture on the hills overlooking Vantage, WA. In the distance the Columbia River is tamed by a dam downstream. Modern transportation runs on I-90 below the hills. But the days of the wild horses are not forgotten.
