            La via Volte
Elle influença de manière déterminante l’extension successive de toute la ville. Dans la Via delle Volte, le développement en profondeur repose sur des passages surélevés voûtés qui ponctuent le parcours. Ceux-ci servaient à relier les entrepôts sur la rive du fleuve Pô avant sa dérivation en 1152, aux boutiques habitées côté centre, mais il existe une autre interprétation selon laquelle les volte permettaient de récupérer des espaces habitables dans une zone trop densément peuplée.
Il n'y a pas si longtemps elle était aussi appelée la rue des prostituées.

Via Volte
It had a decisive influence on the successive expansion of the entire town. The in-depth development of the Via delle Volte is based on the vaulted elevated passages that punctuate the route. These were used to connect the warehouses on the banks of the River Po, before it was diverted in 1152, to the inhabited stores in the center, but there is another interpretation, according to which the volte were used to reclaim living space in an area that was too densely populated.
Not so long ago, it was also known as the street of prostitutes.
