2022.08.09.001 PARIS - Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Clocher porche (990-1014 - XIX°)

             La construction de l'abbatiale, tour et nef, remonte à l'époque romane XIe – XIIe siècles) ; elle est considérée comme l'un des plus anciens édifices religieux de Paris qui subsistent à ce jour, avec les églises Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre, Saint-Pierre-de-Montmartre et Saint-Germain-de-Charonne.
Jusqu'au roi Dagobert, l'abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés était la nécropole royale des rois mérovingiens (VIe et VIIe siècles).
Une basilique et un monastère qui furent dédiés à saint Germain vers 754, en mémoire de l'évêque de Paris.
L'abbaye est détruite par les Normands à la fin du IXe siècle, réédifiée à la fin du Xe. 
 À la Révolution, l'abbaye est dissoute. Les bâtiments servent de raffinerie de salpêtre, ce qui cause des dégâts considérables. Elle est rendue au culte en 1803. Au XIXe siècle, des restaurations sont entreprises par les architectes Godde et Baltard.
 le clocher-porche a été construit entre 990 et 1014. C'est l'un des plus anciens de France. Le dernier étage a été restauré au XIXe siècle.

 The construction of the abbey church, tower and nave, dates back to the Romanesque period (11th-12th centuries); it is considered to be one of the oldest religious buildings in Paris that have survived to this day, along with the churches of Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre, Saint-Pierre-de-Montmartre and Saint-Germain-de-Charonne.
Until King Dagobert, the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés was the royal necropolis of the Merovingian kings (6th and 7th centuries).
A basilica and a monastery dedicated to Saint Germain around 754, in memory of the bishop of Paris.
The abbey was destroyed by the Normans at the end of the 9th century and rebuilt at the end of the 10th century. 
 The abbey was dissolved during the French Revolution. The buildings were used as a saltpetre refinery, which caused considerable damage. It was returned to worship in 1803. In the 19th century, restorations were undertaken by the architects Godde and Baltard.
 The bell tower-porch was built between 990 and 1014. It is one of the oldest in France. The top floor was restored in the 19th century.
