First bloom on our lone sagauro - a photo on Flickriver

            The tall saguaro cactus is the signature plant of the Sonoran Desert.  It blooms once a year, glorious 4-inch white flowers with yellow centers.  The bees love them.  We have one young saguaro on our property.  This is the first year it has produced flowers.  We are thrilled.
