Maximillian sunflowers {Explored} - a photo on Flickriver

            A native plant, the maximillian sunflower blooms in the fall, with numerous small flowers along a tall stem.  The plants can grow quite large, with clusters of stems reaching to seven or eight feet in height.  Birds devour the seeds.  Thanks to everyone who viewed, faved and commented on this shot.
