the Circle of Life - a photo on Flickriver

the Circle of Life

            Having spent ten years in a steel mill I've  known that my heart will give out sooner than expected, but  being armed with that knowledge has led to a quicker understanding of how precious life is.  When you are 25 you are going to live forever, when you are 51 and lived a hard life you breathe in every flower you find.   :-)

This beautiful field is five miles from the blast zone of Mount Saint Helens, the severed stumps attest to the abruptness of life and how quickly that it can end yet the blooms promise a future as bright and vibrant as any new born child.  

My friend and fellow black belt Bobby Hubbard, whom I would say was among the most vibrant and alive people I've ever met went home this week, his passions were innumerable and his values in family and life in general were something to be admired and I will miss his exuberance for the rest of my life.
I'd like to take a moment here to encourage everyone to smell the flowers, breathe the air, hug your friends, and keep your I love you's up to date.

I would further like to thank all of you once again for stopping by, I'll never be able to express how awesome it is for me to connect here with folks stricken by the camera bug,  your joys and finds have become mine and that is a true blessing.  :-)
