Emerging from the undergrowth - a photo on Flickriver

At first glance you could mistake this cat for a domestic moggy. However this is the Scottish wildcat - an increasingly rare animal in the wild, especially pure bred. Now believed to be as few as 100 left in the wild.

It's a privately owned wildlife centre, founded in 1997 by David Mills, a former dairy farmer. It specialises in British wildlife and aims to to educate visitors about native species and the challenges they face today.
