CSX0259 - a photo on Flickriver

            Westbound CSX automotive train Q217 rounds the curve at the east end of the deep cut at Doe Gully, WV on Oct. 22, 2000, led by SD40-2 No. 8367.  Doe Gully was once the location of a tunnel, daylighted in 1913 and 1914 when the Magnolia Cut Off was built, by removing 1,400,000 cubic yards of dirt and rock.  Most of the spoil was taken around the curve to the right and used in the construction of the huge fill at Rockwell Run.
