The Crescent, Buxton - a photo on Flickriver

            The Crescent is a Grade I listed building in Buxton built between 1780-1789 for the 5th Duke of Devonshire to designs by architect John Carr of York as part of the town's bid in the eighteenth century to rival other spa towns such as Bath or Cheltenham. The Crescent was recently re-opened as a 5 Star Spa Hotel following a lengthy multi-million pound restoration.
