1984 Olympics Soccer - French & Egyptian Teams Entering Field

            The Egyptian and French teams emerging from the tunnel onto the field before their elimination round game on August 3, 1984 in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California. Special traffic rules and widely scattered venues made driving to the events easy - parking at the Rose Bowl, in a narrow valley, was another matter. Finally found a space on someones front lawn on a street above the valley and slid down the slope to arrive at the game.

Egypt had just eliminated the US in a 2-2 tie. France won this game 2-0 and went on to win the Gold Medal against Brazil.

The game started at 7PM and the hills surrounding the Rose Bowl were already casting shadows on the field.
