Looking east from the pedestrian overpass at the Texas Tourist Bureau, Highway I-40 in Amarillo, Texas - May 13, 1994

            
The pedestrian bridge over I-40  (now gone) – connected the bureau with the parking lot on the north side (westbound lanes of I-40)  - midpoint (over road) coordinates:
35°11’34.0”N,   101°43’51.3”W

Today (2019) - the info center building stands abandoned on  the south side of I-40.  

On the north side of I-40, there are remains of the northside parking lot and adjacent to that are the Holiday Inn Express & La Quinta by Wyndham hotels.

The newer Tourist Info Center (listed as Texas Travel Information Center), opened in 2003 and is immediately east of the old one (SW corner of Juett Attebury Road and I-40).  In this picture it would be located to the right of the big rig truck seen in the right side of the photo.

The Flying J Travel Center seen in the distance on the left side of the highway still exists.

Also, on the left side of this photo (roughly where the billboards are) there is now a Fairfield Inn by Marriott (north side of freeway across from Travel Info Center) and a Volvo Dealership.

All this area is Exit 76 on I-40 (Airport Blvd exit).
