218 446 Ellenberg (4717n) - a photo on Flickriver

            Mitte Mai diesen Jahres gab es eine schöne Überraschung im Allgäu. Weitgehend unbemerkt von Eisenbahnfreunden wurde die 218 446 vom Bh Kempten bei Bäcker Rail Design in Siegen in den Auslieferungsstand von 1977 zurückversetzt. Am Vatertag erfolgte dann der erste planmäßige Einsatz vor dem im Sommerhalbjahr verkehrenden Radexpress RE 57392 von München HBF nach Lindau. Bei Ellenberg erwarteten zahlreiche Fotografen das ozeanblau-beige Schmuckstück.

In the middle of May this year there was a nice surprise for the Allgäu region. Largely unnoticed by railway enthusiasts, 218 446 from the depot at Kempten was restored at Bäcker Rail Design in Siegen back to the 1977 delivery status. On Father's Day the first scheduled service took place in front of the Radexpress RE 57392 from Munich Central Station to Lindau, which runs during the summer months. At Ellenberg, numerous photographers awaited the ocean blue and beige jewel.
