"We are one" - a photo on Flickriver

"We are one"

             Collaborative Mural made it between myself and my brother Werc  at 11-22 Welling Court Mural Project in Queens, New York.

The mural depicts a giant black panther to represent the ‪black lives matter‬ movement and symbolize all the oppressed peoples whom when united, are a major force in pushing for reform. The panther is juxtaposed with an image of police in full riot gear with the words "We Are One" emblazoned over the polycarbonate shields, as we imagine a future were racialinequalities are a thing of the past and the police and judicial system protect all equally & unequivocally. The panther keeps a watchful eye over the police as only the public can police the police by bringing to light the injustice. The mural is not anti-cop or anti - any "race". We believe that we are one human family that can come together to overcome this trying time we are all going thro. Our hearts goes out to all those who have passed on & become victims of violence, may they rest in peace. We hope that our mural can empower the disenfranchised & those who feel the system is failing. One love.
