Between here and the hinterlands - a photo on Flickriver

            This was the end of the trail for us.  We had driven along a snowy, mountain road, hiked when the road was gated shut, crossed a frozen lake and hiked through a forest filled with knee deep snow drifts to the very border of the country.  But while those things didn't dissuade us, this massive wall of stone and ice was enough.  But that was ok, we came this far to be turned around, you have to at some point.  It was cold and sunny and windy and lonely and peaceful out here.  And the scale of the mountains really made you feel your place.
