Careless tourists on Lakagigar - a photo on Flickriver

The lava is very brittle, and the vegetation is very vulnerable. Therefore the area is protected. Your are highly encouraged not to leave the trail, and not to follow trails that are blocked.

To climb this protected and very vulnerable crater, these tourists even had to climb over a physical obstruction. That did not stop them.
