Indian Farmer Transplanting Rice Seedlings at Sunset

Few days ago, Gurbir Singh Brar, a Flickr friend, came up with some ideas and we went to countryside for a drive to discuss, also we could reccee the area for future photography session. Since, we were going to discuss some serious issues, I decided to leave my cameras behind at home, as I wouldn’t have been able to discuss things if I had carried my cameras.

While returning, after a fruitful discussion, I spotted some labourers transplanting rice seedlings in a field on the roadside itself. I could anticipate a good photo session there, as nice clouds were on the horizon line, in front of the setting Sun, as I knew that colours would come out nice after rains. I took a deep breath and regretted not carrying my camera, but Gurbir pleasantly surprised me with his Nikon camera and offered me his equipment for a photo session. The temptation was too strong to decline the offer. I took off my shoes and got ready to go into the field with the labourers. They were quite amused and impressed with my enthusiasm and abandoned their tea session abruptly. It was quite a fun shooting photos with them in the muddy field.

I wish I had my own cameras (Canon), so I did not have to learn Nikon on the spot and use, sometimes I had to consult Gurbir about how to change some settings. It consumed some precious time and could not do much justice to the opportunity.

Never go out without your own camera !
