            Federal Palace of Switzerland

The Federal Palace (German: Bundeshaus, French: Palais fédéral, Italian: Palazzo federale; Latin: Curia Confoederationis Helveticae) is the name of the building in Bern in which the Swiss Federal Assembly (federal parliament) and the Federal Council are housed.
The building was designed by the architect Hans Auer and its inauguration took place on 1 April 1902. The total cost, at the time, was 7,198,000 Swiss Francs.

The two chambers where the National Council and the Council of States meet are separated by the Hall of the Dome. The dome itself has an external height of 64 m, and an internal height of 33 m. The mosaic in the center represents the Federal coat of arms along with the Latin motto Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno (One for all, and all for one), surrounded by the coat of arms of the 22 cantons that existed in 1902. The coat of arms of the Canton of Jura, created in 1979, was placed outside of the mosaic.
The name in German means "federal house", whereas the French and Italian names both translate to "Federal Palace".

Als Bundeshaus (französisch Palais fédéral, italienisch Palazzo federale, rätoromanisch Chasa federala) wird der Sitz von Regierung und Parlament der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft in der Bundesstadt Bern bezeichnet.

Das Bundeshaus ist ein unter Denkmalschutz stehender symmetrischer Gebäudekomplex von etwas mehr als 300 Metern Länge, der als eines der bedeutendsten historistischen Bauwerke des Landes im Schweizerischen Inventar der Kulturgüter von nationaler Bedeutung verzeichnet ist.[1] Er besteht aus drei miteinander verbundenen Gebäuden im Südwesten der Berner Altstadt. Mittelpunkt ist das Parlamentsgebäude am Bundesplatz. Darin tagen der Nationalrat und der Ständerat, die beiden Kammern der Bundesversammlung. Darüber hinaus dient es als Tagungsort der Fraktionen und weiteren zum Parlamentsbetrieb gehörenden Zwecken. Das Bundeshaus West an der Bundesgasse ist Hauptsitz zweier Departemente der Bundesverwaltung sowie Standort der Bundeskanzlei und der Eidgenössischen Parlaments- und Zentralbibliothek, ausserdem hält der Bundesrat hier seine Sitzungen ab. Zwei weitere Departemente haben ihren Hauptsitz im Bundeshaus Ost an der Kochergasse.

Shot description / How-To

This photograph has been done with a so called multi-row-panorama or vertorama process. That means a couple of single shots are stitched together like a normal panorama but in several rows. For the stitching-process I've used Microsoft ICE and to increase the details I've used the Topaz software in several layers.

The single shots have been taken with the Sigma 10-20mm for Canon. The settings were 25/1 - f16 - ISO100 during the blue hour.

Even it looks like one - This is not an HDR!
