Sisyphus in Tree Form - a photo on Flickriver

            The Milky Way rises above a pinyon pine skeleton in the Maze District of Canyonlands.  The tree is lit with a wee bit of red light from my head lamp.  The outstretched limbs remind me of the task of Sisyphus, who daily had to roll a boulder uphill, only to watch it roll back down again.  Maybe it was sleep deprivation that made me think of this ...
