Through a Glass Darkly - a photo on Flickriver

            The sky and Indian Peaks appear in the mirror of Red Rock Lake at sunset on a beautiful July evening.  A nice diversity of cloud types and layers hinted at the potential for a variety of colors as the sun descended.  The calm water provided a wonderful scene, giving me a feeling of vertigo looking into the lake that I’ve only had a few times before.  There were a few caddis flies skittering around, laying eggs in the water (a subtle wave is visible in the lower left corner).  Unfortunately there were also more than a few mosquitoes.

This is a stitch of 7 vertical shots to get as much of the sky as possible- I left the ultra wide home this night.
