Holly Smelling Lid to Candle - a photo on Flickriver

            During our recent blackout, we were burning every candle imaginable for light as well as a bit of heat. Candles became scarce in Tulsa and in the surrounding communities that were hit hardest by the ice storm; lamp oil was an even more precious commodity, as they tend to put off more light as well as a significant amount of heat.

Some of the candles we purchased were more for the scent they gave off than for any useful function as a light source. But we still kept them, and will probably burn them thru the next few weeks to make the apartment smell good.

Holly loves taking the lid off of one of the scented candles and smelling it. Probably enjoys it more than the actual burning itself.
