Sometimes the Electricity Fails - a photo on Flickriver

            The title is an obvious homage to an O. Winston Link photo of the same name. That photograph was of an elderly gentleman pumping gas into a young couple's convertible in the mid-1950's as a Norfolk and Western steam locomotive rushed by in the background; the pump the gentleman is operating is an old hand-powered gasoline pump.

This was the lighting we had to use over at my folks' house during the power outage caused by the ice storm last weekend. We have power now at our apartment, but unfortunately my folks are still without. 

And yes, they have the offer to come stay here, but they feel more comfortable staying in where they can keep an eye on things.
