Kofola Original: if you love her, there is nothing to question

Kofola is a carbonated soft drink produced in Slovakia and Czech Republic. It is the principal rival of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Kofola originated in the Czechoslovak Research Institute of Medicinal Plants in Prague now Czech Republic in 1959, during research targeted at finding a possible use for surplus caffeine produced in the process of coffee roasting. The resulting dark-coloured, sweet-and-sour syrup Kofo became the main ingredient of a new soft drink named Kofola introduced in 1960. During the 1960s and 1970s Kofola became exceedingly popular in communist Czechoslovakia because it substituted for Western cola-based drinks like Coca-Cola or Pepsi, which were not generally available. Even today, Kofola is a popular option in restaurants as Pepsi and Coca-Cola are more expensive to supply. Since 2002 the producer has launched a successful media campaign aimed at a young and hip audience based on the slogan: If you love her, there is nothing to question. The most popular mix with kofola is a cocktail made of kofola, domestic rum and lemon juice called Kofrum, Student lemonade, Rebel or Chequia Libre. Kofola with pilsner lager beer is called Diesel.

Spania Dolina lies in the southern part of Low Tatra Mountains close to the town of Banska Bystrica in Central Slovakia , 782 m above the sea level. It's an old mining town and there is a beautiful Catholic church. A covered stairway leads to this fortified church. The local Banícka krčma pub is ofcourse in front of the Catholic church. There is billiard table, TV, table football, ping-pong table and jukebox, of course, tapped beer for only 0.9 Euro or you can order same as Samantha ordered, a Kofola draught!

Kofola is een frisdrank die wordt geproduceerd in Tsjechië en Slowakije. Het is op die beide markten de belangrijkste concurrent van Coca-Cola en Pepsi. Kofola werd geïntroduceerd in 1962 en werd in de jaren zestig en zeventig steeds populairder in het communistische Tsjechoslowakije als vervanger van niet-verkrijgbare Westerse cola's zoals Coca-Cola en Pepsi. Na de val van het communistische regime in 1989 moest Kofola plotseling concurreren met vele buitenlandse merken, die deze voor hen nieuwe markt binnenkwamen. Zelfs vandaag de dag is Kofola een populaire drank in restaurants, omdat Pepsi en Coca-Cola duurder zijn. Sinds 2002 heeft de producent een succesvolle mediacampagne gelanceerd die gericht is op een jong en hip publiek op basis van de slogan: Als je van haar houdt, is er niets meer te vragen . De meest populaire mix met kofola is een cocktaill gemaakt van kofola, lokale rum en citroensap genaamd Kofrum, Student Limonade, Rebel of Chequia Libre. Kofola met bier heet Diesel. Het hoofdingrediënt van Kofola is een zoetzure siroop genaamd Kofo. Deze bestaat uit veertien natuurlijke ingrediënten, waaronder extracten van appel en kersen, kruiden, suiker en karamel. Vergeleken met Coca-Cola en Pepsi bevat Kofola 30% minder suiker en 50% minder cafeïne. Ook bevat het in tegenstelling tot deze twee merken geen fosforzuur (E338).
