This little cairn of stones accumulating on the stump lies on the Coosa trail almost as you complete the loop, going counterclockwise, on that section the overlaps the Bear Hair. Passersby, on this remote mountain trail contribute a stone, many of which appear to have been handpicked or brought from another location. The Cross was a recent addition, not present 2 trips ago (last trip, I didn't hike this section... I'll have to ask Scott.) I would have loved to shoot this in the sunset light, but always, at this point of the Coosa, I am tired, and my knees are feeling their age. It was kinda neat after 2 day's of snow (a definite Georgia novelty) to come down and find this... especially with Easter on the horizon.View On Black
