Time to Head Home-HFF - a photo on Flickriver

            The road I shot in the previous post is on the far left. It is harvest season now in Southwest GA, and the farmers are working long hours. There is a small window of the day to pick cotton and peanuts - usually they don't start until around noon because the dew has to completely dry and the crop become brittle before the pickers will work correctly, and they have to quit when the sun goes down for the same reason. A true farmer (like my husband) can tell by the way the equipment sounds if it is "picking" like it should. There is no second chance, so we want as much as possible the first time around!
