            Der Große Bär (lateinisch / fachsprachlich Ursa Major ‚größere Bärin‘) ist ein ausgedehntes Sternbild des Nordhimmels. Eine auffällige Konfiguration von sieben besonders hellen Sternen dieses Sternbildes, ein Asterismus (=Teilsternbild), wird im deutschsprachigen Raum als Großer Wagen bezeichnet. Die Sterne α und β (Dubhe und Merak) dienen als Polweiser zum Finden des Polarsterns.
