Troop of little Bird's Nest Fungi in the Nidulariaceae family in the Oregon woods

This is a troop of little Bird's Nest Fungi in the Nidulariaceae family in the Oregon woods. I got my family shot in this photo just to the right. Most of these caps have tiny "eggs" inside . The eggs are really spore sacs called peridioles. These are growing on a fallen branch in a conifer woodland. The mushrooms are "splash cups" - raindrops knock the eggs out of the nest to scatter the spores, and you can see a few on the log. One cap near the bottom still has a cover, and note the mosses on the old caps. (Near Susan Creek, North Umpqua River, Oregon, 28 November 2015)
