Pier Hill Observation Tower, Southend-on-Sea - 4

            Concept design created by SKARCHITECTS LTD Director, Steven Kearney.

Whilst the head of Design at Southend on Sea Borough Council a scheme was developed as part of the Pier Hill landscape and environmental to improve the public connectivity between the High Street and the seafront, whilst at the same time creating a new icon against Southend’s Nationally important Pier. An observation tower complete with two funicular lifts were developed up to RIBA stage C and then transferred to Stanley Bragg for detailed design as part of a framework.

The Pier Hill Tower and Observation deck has been photographed and depicted in various mediums by local artists and has become a 21st Century icon for Southend Seafront.

the local area, and it also offers an ideal point
from which to take a great photo.
