Gamekeeper guilty of killing two Short-eared Owls

Today a gamekeeper (Tim Cowin) from the Whernside (grouse shooting) Estate in the Yorkshire Dales was convicted of shooting two Short-eared Owls in April last year. Judging by the number of photographs of Short-eared Owls on Flickr it seems that many of you enjoy these birds as much as I do. It sickens me that people such as this would go to such lengths to support the minority hobby of grouse shooting, depriving the rest of us of enjoying these magnificent birds.
