Grey Seals on Seal Sands - a photo on Flickriver

            I photographed this group of loafing Grey Seals on Seal Sands in the Tees Estuary.  I have seen them many times from the land but I was fortunate enough to be on a boat in the Tees Estuary so I took a few pictures as we pootled past.  The sun was behind them but I quite liked the way the backlighting highlighted their whiskers.  The Tees Estuary is about half way between the two nearest breeding colonies of the Farne Islands in Northumberland, and Donna Nook in Lincolnshire.
