On Saturday I posted a few close focus shots from the new Tamron and raised the question of extension tubes. I answered the question here, with the addition of a 31mm extension tube to the Tamron. This shot is handheld, and while the shutter speed is obviously faster than what requires image stabilization, the importance of VC is the ability to lock the image in the viewfinder and holding focus. Detail is good and transition to ooF area is strong. What is my prickly subject here? Ironically it once was a flower. This is the center of a cornflower, now in winter dry out. Just remember, winter is no reason to get prickly...
