Day 179 - the last Pizza Haven? - a photo on Flickriver

Once upon a time in the Pacific Northwest, say 30 years ago, there was a pizzeria chain called Pizza Haven. "Pizza Haven is pizza heaven." Every good-sized city had at least one.

Then they went away. Probably because they had to compete with Shakey's and Pizza Hut and Pietro's and the ma-n-pa places. Musta been bad for everyone, since Shakey's is down to two Washington locations (both off I-405) and Pietro's is down to four restaurants total (all in Oregon).

But there's one left: at the Seattle Center, in the shadow of the Space Needle. They've been there forever. Hell, if you Google or Wikipedia "pizza haven" you get the chain in Australia, which is actually owned by Domino's, and further searching reveals this exact location plus some ma-n-pa places which aren't related to the old American chain.
