That Wanaka tree. Morning - a photo on Flickriver

The Wanaka tree has taken over 70 years to get to this size and shape. And now it is one of the most photographed trees in New Zealand. Something oriental in appearance of it, very photogenic.

We stayed one night in Wanaka - town on the southern shore of the same name lake, so I get chance to come to see it in the evening and early morning. Regreted again that I did not take my polarized filter (and - usual - do not bother about tripod). I am not going to compete here with some stunning photos on that tree in flickr. Anyway, a few shots loaded to flickr.

Note, the tree is a willow. Apparently it is so called crack willow - Salix fragilis.
