During the mid 1930's this building served as a workshop or tool shed for the Fort Frederick Civilian Conservation Corp Camp. Sometime after the campe was abandoned, the building was donated to a nearby Methodist Church and moved off park lands. In 2004 the unique structure was returned to the park for future restoration through the efforts of the "Friends of Fort Frederick State Park Inc." This is one of a number of original CCC Camp buildings that exist throughout the country. Because these structures were intended to be temporary in nature, those that remain are important reminders of our history.
