It was one fine day in spring
When I first saw a lady fair
Brushing her dark long shiny hair
Beside an old green garden chair

She's working there I had to stare
In the sunshine that day because I care
When all winters snow has melted
And slowly went who knows where

In the lovely month of May
When the children go out to play
You can hear their sounds everywhere

A little about the man:
It’s nearly impossible to miss the painting of local hero Walter Zielke Ruesch and his constant companion-a beloved bike. Known as a venerable St. Nick, Zoohky was an institution in the community. He often repaired discarded toys leaving them in the yards of needy families. The paper he holds is his poem “Blue Danube,” which was published in the local paper West Central Streets. Originally, the mural did not include his bike, but after numerous calls the Biz added it the following summer. Zoohky died in 2002 of a heart attack at the age of 72.
