Starry Night of the Day 016/365 - a photo on Flickriver

            Creating a Starry Night image every day--never drawn before.

Oil pastels; time limit: 90 minutes

Spent a little extra time beyond my 60 minute goal because the oil pastels are so unfamiliar and challenging to work with, but by the end of the 90 minutes I felt I was starting to get the hang of one way they could be used. It was particularly interesting to see how the white stick could light and blend. Although I'm not to pleased with how block-y and primitive this looks, I like the intensity and blendability of these oil pastels.
