A Rainbow of Light

            With the forecast peppered with words like blizzard and nor'easter on the way, I anticipated a spectacular sunrise this morning.  So, I rushed outside in pre-dawn darkness to find a good vantage point.  The horizon began with pink.  As it rose, it was tinged with lavendar.  Then, before I even saw the sun, a cold, steely gray covered most of the sky.  

As I crunched across the frozen ground back to my warm house, the fizzle of a sunrise was disappointing.  So, I uploaded my photos from yesterday and found this one to post.  It was one of those stunning, breath-taking events, and I added a vivid filter to allow each hue to have its own space on this one.  Don't the bare tree limbs look lacy against the rainbow-colored sunrise?
