Trade winds over Teide - a photo on Flickriver

            The view across the volcanic landscape of Teide National Park, Tenerife, captured from a footpath near to the Izana observatory. The clouds in the background are formed as moist air carried by the Trade Winds is forced to rise over the mountains. As a result, the north of the island is often rather overcast and wet while the south of the island usually enjoys plenty of sunshine. Thanks for looking.
