The Dark Destroyer - a photo on Flickriver

The Dark Destroyer

            Taken from the same position as my last picture on the beach at Bexhill/ Cooden but compostionally different and with a totally different style.
I intentionally included the pebbles for this shot which in turn pushed the horizon up towards the top third of the screen.
The beacon is slightly lost due to the dark sky but I didn't want to enhance it too much as there would be a big halo around it.

This is a 61 second exposure

Post Processing
►Converted to mono in efex
►Dodged and burned the pebbles in the foreground to make them stand out more
►Added an 'S' curve for contrast
►Added unsharp mask for detail and clarity
